This gentle introductory class opens the door to the Let Animals Lead® Method of Animal Reiki and serves as the first step in The Empowered Companion’s 2026 Animal Reiki pathway.
We’ll explore the foundations of the method, the ethics of supporting animals energetically, and how your own self-care creates spaciousness for healing. You’ll learn a simple meditative technique to use at home and experience a guided Animal Reiki meditation to help you feel the peacefulness of this practice.
My gift to you is a beautiful take-home booklet that includes all the material we cover in class, plus a guided meditation and a collection of simple bonding activities you can try with your own pets or with animals at your local shelter, rescue, or sanctuary. There is free parking at our location. Come into the building and look for the stairs or elevator to find us on the second floor of the office building.

What is animal reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word that translates into "spiritual" or "life force" (rei) "energy" (ki). The Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki, created by Kathleen Prasad, is an empathic, meditation-based healing modality that balances the flow of life force energy to support your companion’s behavioral, emotional, and physical needs, while holding space for your pain and joy.
Creating a space of balance and harmony allows your pet a respite from the mental trappings of discomfort, fear and confusion to assist their physical, mental, and emotional healing. Once the body and mind relax, healing energy can flow from a place of peace. When you participate as a partner, you can better provide ongoing support within your home.

Is this a reiki certification class?
This 90 minute introductory class does not come with certification. This offering is designed to provide background, on practices and principles, as well as the ethics behind animal reiki for those who may be interested in seeking out future certification or other more in-depth courses. We will also enjoy a group animal reiki meditation, and you will receive a practical meditation to take home to our own companion animals.

Hi, I'm Jaime!
I am an Animal Reiki Teacher, Certified Companion Animal End of Life Doula, and personal Mesa Carrier in the Andean Shamanic Tradition. I dedicate my time and energy to supporting animals and their human companions during life's most tender moments, creating compassionate spaces for healing, connection, and transformation.
Specializing in Animal Reiki and End-of-Life Doula services, I help pets navigate chronic illness, anxiety, and aging while guiding their families with empathy and respect. As a certified practitioner of the Let Animals Lead® Method of Animal Reiki, I blend mindfulness and presence with practical expertise in animal health and compassionate, non-clinical support during end-of-life transitions. My role as a Mesa Carrier deepens my connection to the natural world and reinforces my understanding of the interconnectedness of all beings, enhancing my ability to support the emotional and spiritual needs of animals and their families with grace and presence.
