You’ve built the foundation. You’ve learned to observe, be, invite, and meditate with animals rather than approaching them with an agenda. You’ve practiced listening, allowing, and honoring their agency. And perhaps you’ve begun to notice something else along the way: Animal Reiki is becoming less about something you do and more about how you show up.
Level 2 is an invitation to go deeper.
In this next level of the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki, we build upon the practices introduced in Level 1 while exploring additional tools for connection, meditation, distance Reiki, and compassionate support.
You’ll be introduced to the first three traditional Reiki symbols and mantras, deepen your work with the Reiki Precepts, expand your meditation practice, and learn ways to offer Animal Reiki across distance. We’ll also explore how to remain grounded and present when supporting animals through more complex circumstances, including fear, trauma, illness, change, and end-of-life experiences.
Rather than giving you more things to do to an animal, Level 2 helps you develop greater trust in the practice and in your own ability to create a peaceful, respectful space where animals remain free to participate on their terms.
This is where the foundation you established in Level 1 begins to become an embodied practice you can carry with you wherever animals need support.
Who Will Benefit from Level 2 Certification?
This certification is designed for students who have completed Let Animals Lead® Animal Reiki Level 1 and feel ready to deepen their practice.
Level 2 may be especially meaningful for:
Animal Reiki Level 1 practitioners who want greater confidence and depth in their practice
Pet parents and caregivers who want additional ways to support their own animal companions
Veterinary professionals, technicians, assistants, and other members of the animal care community

Those supporting senior, chronically ill, fearful, sensitive, traumatized, or end-of-life animals

Anyone who feels called to make the Let Animals Lead® philosophy a deeper part of their relationship with animals and the world around them
You do not need to arrive at Level 2 feeling completely confident. This course is part of the process of developing that confidence through practice, reflection, and experience.
What You’ll Learn
Level 2 builds upon your Level 1 foundation while introducing practices that allow you to deepen and expand the ways you share Reiki with animals.

The first three traditional Reiki symbols and mantras, including their meaning, practice, and ethical use within the Let Animals Lead® approach
How symbols and mantras can support meditation and help deepen your connection with animals without directing or controlling their experience
Distance Animal Reiki, allowing you to offer a peaceful Reiki space for animals regardless of physical location
Additional Japanese Reiki meditation practices that strengthen grounding, focus, and inner stability
A deeper exploration of the Reiki Precepts and how they can become a lived practice rather than something reserved for formal Reiki sessions
How to remain grounded and compassionate when supporting animals experiencing fear, trauma, illness, uncertainty, or transition
Ways to include an animal’s human caregivers and environment within the Reiki space while continuing to honor the animal’s agency
How to recognize when your own emotions, expectations, or desire to help may be entering the Reiki space, and practices for returning to presence
Ethical considerations for sharing Animal Reiki with your own companions, animals in your community, and professional clients
Practices for strengthening trust in yourself without relying on outcomes or needing proof that Reiki is “working”
How to begin bringing your Animal Reiki practice into the world with greater confidence, integrity, and respect for the animals you serve
Level 2 is not about becoming more forceful or powerful as a practitioner. Quite the opposite. As your practice deepens, you learn to become steadier, quieter, and more trusting of what unfolds.

More than another collection of techniques, Level 2 offers space to strengthen your relationship with the practice itself. My hope is that you leave feeling more grounded in what you know, more comfortable with what you don't know, and more able to trust the quiet presence animals continually invite us to cultivate.

Requirements of this Certification Course
Prerequisite: Level 1 Certification in the Let Animals Lead® method
Completion of Let Animals Lead® Animal Reiki Level 1 Certification is required before beginning Level 2.
If you completed Level 1 with another Let Animals Lead® teacher, you are welcome to continue your training with Jaime. Please reach out before registering if you have questions about your previous certification.
If your previous Reiki training is from another lineage or Animal Reiki method, Level 1 Let Animals Lead® training is still required before entering Level 2 because the philosophy, ethics, and animal-led approach established in Level 1 form the foundation for everything we explore here.
Participation
Full participation in all scheduled course sessions is required to receive Level 2 certification.
Because each session builds upon the previous teachings and includes experiential practice, attendance is an important part of both your learning and our shared class experience.
Access to Animals
Students should plan for regular meditation and Animal Reiki practice between class sessions.
The purpose isn't perfection or accumulating a certain number of sessions. Consistent practice gives the teachings somewhere to take root and gives us real experiences, questions, and discoveries to explore together when we meet again.
At Home Practice
You will need opportunities to practice Animal Reiki between sessions. These may be your own companions or other animals you already have appropriate permission to support.
Because Level 2 includes distance Animal Reiki, your practice is not limited to animals who are physically present with you.
Is Level 2 Right for You?
You may be ready for Level 2 if you’ve completed Level 1 and find yourself wanting to understand the practice more deeply. Perhaps you’ve experienced those quiet moments when an animal settles beside you, softens during meditation, or chooses to remain in the Reiki space. Perhaps you’ve also experienced moments of uncertainty.
Am I doing this correctly?
How do I stay grounded when an animal is struggling?
Can I offer Reiki when I can’t physically be with them?
How do I support an animal I love without allowing my own fear or hopes to take over?
These questions aren't evidence that your practice isn't working. They are often the doorway into deeper practice.
Level 2 gives us room to explore them together.
Important Details
Advanced Registration Required
For Human Participants Only: To honor the classroom environment and venue policies, animal companions remain at home during class. Your practice between sessions will give you plenty of opportunities to explore the teachings alongside animals.
Optional Practice Opportunities: When appropriate opportunities are available, optional visits to shelters, sanctuaries, or other animal-centered environments may be offered. Details and any additional entry fees will be shared with students in advance.
Location & Parking: Classes are held at Discover Your Spiritual Gifts in Centennial, Colorado. Free parking is available, and the classroom is located on the second floor with both stair and elevator access.
Refund Policy
I understand that schedules can shift. If you need to cancel your registration, refunds are available up to 7 days before the start date and time of the first class session, minus any non-refundable credit card processing fees.
Cancellations made within 7 days of the start date and time are not eligible for refunds or class credits, as your space, materials, and course resources have already been reserved.

Introduction to the Let Animals Lead® Method of Animal Reiki
Frequently Asked Questions
How is Level 2 different from Level 1?
Level 1 establishes the foundation of the Let Animals Lead® method. You learn the Reiki Precepts, meditation practices, animal agency and choice, ethical Animal Reiki practice, and the importance of “being Reiki with” animals rather than directing Reiki toward them.
Level 2 builds upon that foundation.
We introduce the first three traditional Reiki symbols and mantras, distance Animal Reiki, additional meditation practices, and deeper applications of the teachings. We also spend more time exploring how to remain grounded and present when animals and their people are navigating difficult or emotionally complex circumstances.
The goal is not simply to know more. It is to become more comfortable and steady within the practice you have already begun.
Do I need to feel completely confident in Level 1 before enrolling?
No. Level 2 is part of developing that confidence. You should have completed your Level 1 certification and spent some time practicing the meditations and sharing Reiki with animals, but you don't need to feel as though you've mastered everything.
Bring your questions. Bring the experiences that puzzled you. Bring the moments that surprised you. Those become valuable parts of our learning together.
Will I learn Distance Animal Reiki?
Yes. Distance Reiki is an important component of Level 2.
You’ll learn how to offer Animal Reiki when you and the animal are not physically together while maintaining the same principles of agency, choice, respect, and non-attachment that guide in-person practice. This can be especially valuable when an animal lives far away, is hospitalized, does not welcome unfamiliar people into their physical space, or simply benefits from receiving support without another person physically present.
Will we learn Reiki symbols?
Yes. Level 2 introduces the first three traditional Reiki symbols and their associated mantras.
Rather than treating the symbols as tools for directing energy toward an animal, we explore them within the meditation-based philosophy of Let Animals Lead®. They become another way of deepening our own practice and creating a compassionate space that animals are free to enter, experience, or leave.
Does Level 2 allow me to practice Animal Reiki professionally?
Level 2 provides the deeper training, ethical framework, and practitioner certification for students interested in beginning or expanding professional Animal Reiki work.
Certification, however, is the beginning of professional development rather than its finish line. Experience, continued meditation practice, ethical decision-making, appropriate business practices, and ongoing education all contribute to becoming a skilled Animal Reiki practitioner.
We'll talk about what it means to carry this work responsibly into your community.
I received Level 1 certification from another Let Animals Lead® teacher. Can I take Level 2 with Jaime?
Yes. If your Level 1 certification is through the Let Animals Lead® method, you are welcome to continue your training with me.

I’m certified in another Reiki lineage. Can I begin with Level 2?
Students coming from another Reiki lineage still begin with Let Animals Lead® Level 1.
Your previous Reiki experience is absolutely valuable, but Let Animals Lead® has a specific meditation-based, animal-led philosophy centered on agency, choice, and non-attachment. Level 1 establishes this shared foundation before we introduce the Level 2 practices.

MEET your TEACHER
Hi, I'm Jaime!
I’m Jaime Kuhn, founder of The Empowered Companion®, a Let Animals Lead® Animal Reiki Teacher, Certified Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula, Certified Sound Healing Practitioner, and personal Mesa Carrier in the Andean tradition.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: animals deserve to be met as participants in their own lives, with their preferences, boundaries, relationships, and agency respected.
I trained in the Let Animals Lead® method with its founder, Kathleen Prasad, and my own Animal Reiki practice has taught me that some of the most meaningful support we can offer an animal begins not with doing more, but with learning how to be present differently. That philosophy shapes both the way I practice and the way I teach.
My work often brings me alongside animals and their people during tender or changing seasons, including aging, illness, behavioral challenges, end-of-life transitions, grief, and the everyday work of learning to understand one another more deeply. I bring those experiences into the classroom alongside meditation, Reiki practice, animal-centered ethics, and practical conversations about what it means to share this work responsibly in real life.
My spiritual practices, including my relationship with the natural world through the Andean tradition, further inform my understanding of connection and reciprocity among living beings. They complement my Animal Reiki practice without replacing its Japanese Reiki foundations or the Let Animals Lead® methodology I teach.
Through The Empowered Companion, I offer Animal Reiki, companion animal end-of-life and grief support, feline behavior support, sound-based experiences, and Animal Reiki education. Although these services take different forms, they share the same foundation: presence, compassion, respect for agency, and a deep appreciation for the relationships we build with the animals who share our lives.
As a teacher, my goal is not simply to help you earn a certification. I want you to leave with a practice you understand, trust, and can continue developing long after our class ends, whether you share Animal Reiki with your own companions or eventually carry it into your community and professional work.
